My problem with that storyline is that it has nothing to do with the rest of the movie. The two other main plots, the Welles production and the redbaiting committee, are inextricably linked. The committee is painting federal theater as being communist and The Cradle Will Rock is a pro-union production, so the two

Cradle Will Rock: Pretty good movie. If you take out the John Cusack storyline (and all the subplots within it), then it would be a great movie.

The St. Elsewhere connection had already been establihed. Alfre Woodard a guest spot as her St. Elsewhere character in a season 6 episode.

The notion of the kid being traumatized is brought up in the movie. If I recall correctly, both the kid forgetting about the movie and claiming to have lost the knife earlier that night occurred when when he was being questioned by the police upon returning home with his father's corpse in the next room.

I still like the remake quite a bit overall, but the weirdest thing I remember about it is how the script maintained the group dynamics from the original of the jury being a bunch of young and middle-aged guys and only one old guy (Hume Cronyn in this case) despite the presence of folks like Jack Lemmon, George C.

"As for the possibility that The Kid is mistaken about when he lost the knife, that's beyond the realm of speculation. He made a specific statement and we're given no reason to doubt it, except that it implicates him and we know he's intended to be falsely accused."

"Coupled with all the other evidence that would have to be mistaken or coincidental—and I concede that it's quite likely that the police would jump to conclusions and that neighbors would confabulate accordingly—it's impossible to swallow. Slam-dunk conviction."

Exactly. He has a brutal fight with his father and goes to a movie to cool off. It's not unreasonable to think he might've been stressed out while watching and paying very little attention or just spacing out the entire time.

Fuck Dawn of the Dead. Generation Kill owns the song.

I think the subtitle might also be a requirement to remain eligible as a miniseries. That way they can say they're not a second season of American Horror Story, but rather a sequel. Sleeper Cell did a similar thing for it's second season where it called itself "Sleeper Cell: American Terror."
