Pete was awful this week no question, but I think the show is not doing its job if it's definitively convincing you to make an absolute judgment about his character one way or the other.

As with many things in this show, it wasn't wholly clear, but it was certainly presented as a redemptive, positive thing.  I was initially quite impressed by how non-judgmental the show was about her abortion—something that virtually never happens in television and film—but then they had to go and muck it up like that.
