I kind of wanted Von to do well and force his way to Vegas just because having a heel on SYTYCD is something that hasn't happened before.  I get that it sort of goes against the ethos of the show, but it would've been a neat diretion.

That's a very fair criticism, but I don't know what the show can do to subvert it.  They don't know who's going to be in the Top 20 when they're in Houston or New York or wherever, but they have to showcase someone.

If you don't think that the gay dancers are allowed to be as gay as they want to be, I don't know what to tell you.  I have no problem figuring out what dancers are likely gay and which ones aren't—including probably Season 4 winner Brandon.

I thought Vocal Adrenaline was in the same town as McKinley.  Isn't that how Rachel and the-guy-from-Spring-Awakening could meet at Between the Sheets?

I can't help giggling at "thanks to a giant trophy."  LOL.

Jenna's "talent" will be enough to get the show canceled after next season.  No charisma, very little performance.  Glee will suffer from the Smash/Studio 60 problem of everyone insisting that everyone left in the club is SO VERY TALENTED AND EXCELLENT, while being clear to those watching that they're average.

Lea Michelle looked just right in Tina's wardrobe, for my money.  As did Diana Argon as Sugar.

Hmm… I really like Irving.  Prayer For Owen Meany was one of the foundational books of my life.  I haven't read anything of his since A Widow For One Year.  Eventually all his books started sounding the same.  If Irving wants to be taken seriously as a writer, he should write something new.

As I said, I'm a fan of Todd.  I think the AV Club is probably editorially trying to do too much (really, a weekly write-up of Castle???), and the writing that takes place here has declined in quality, especially when Todd's over-extended himself.  I don't think that Todd is doing as well with these writeups (in

I usually love your work, Todd.  I teach my Community College freshman not to begin their essays with a question.  It's what every seventh-grader uses.

I think I missed a level of competition… Are we already at Nationals?  Was it that Nude Erections beat the TroubleTones (or whatever) at sectionals, then beat the Warblers at Regionals (who I think they also faced off against at Sectionals, but whatever), and are now on their way to Nationals?  Is this how it happened

Has Glee really dealt with the issue of WHY these kids would want to leave Lima, though?  Beside CHORD OVERSTREET!!!, none of these kids have particularly crappy lives.  They all live in nice houses, and Lima has like a half-dozen high schools.  There's nothing about their existences that seem particularly smothering.

I could not disagree with this review more.  I was dreadfully bored this entire episode, in part because of the lifeless performances and choreography, but also because there's no there there with Finn.

I prefer the Santana stuff because I like looking at Naya Rivera and I like thinking about Santana and Britney making out.  But I'm a guy.

"I hope they handle this story delicately and do it justice."

I never watched the BBC "Skins", but I thought that the teacher-student relationship on the MTV version was pretty solid for the seven episodes or whatever I watched.

I hear that they join the Senior Choir that we saw at Sectionals last season.

I went to graduate school with Melinda back in the day.  She's got a wonderful voice and is deservedly getting recognized for her work here.
