I don't think it had anything to do with her solo. Bianca always looked a little awkward out there. She was consistently dancing with her shoulders up, practically to her chin. It doesn't look graceful, and it doesn't look comfortable.

I don't know. He's on the B.S. Report occasionally, and he's usually better there than he is in his essays. I think that Klosterman's best if you don't think too much about his ideas after you're done.

If/when you read the book, the title is pretty nicely earned. The essay that the title comes from ("Tomorrow Rarely Knows") might be the best essay of the book (it's about the ethics and practicalities of time travel).

True enough, although I've read things of comperable quality and insight by people like Michael Lewis and in magazines like Harpers and The Atlantic Monthly. There are incredible essayists out there. Perhaps

Yay!
I watched this live for the first time in forever.

That's definitely true. If I didn't have my discount at the local independent bookstore, then I would have balked at the $26 price tag.

Not a Hipster, but Halfway Through
I'm surprised that the author didn't point this out in her review, but the essays in this book are MUCH longer than in IV (which sucked) or SD&CP. Because they're longer, I think that Klosterman takes this odd tack of not really managing the transitions between his ideas within the

I'd actually be fine with that. I'd love to hear the cast of Glee perform with their real voices and without all the production. Also, one of the former contestants on SYTYCD is has appeared on Glee, so it's a legit crossover.

I don't mind Glee. One song out of 10 last night really wasn't going to bother me, especially if it recalls the hilarious assembly from that song.

Also, Geniveve do you think you could possibly spare a paragraph every couple weeks to talk about Cat? She's so fantastic that it's easy to forget to give her her much-deserved props. Two fantastic outfits this week.

Very good episode tonight
* Too many of the contestants looked a little star-struck or small last night. I think that'll improve as the dancers get coached a little bit off-camera and the low-wattage dancers get eliminated. Still, there's a lot of a feeling of a really, really good high-school dance contest going

The unfortunate thing for NappyTab was how much BETTER Dave Scott's hip hop routine was. I understand that NappyTab makes hip hop okay for grandma, but it just keeps getting lamer.

That's what DVR is for, my friend. The TiVo season pass would have solved this problem, as well as "Record all new episodes."

Lil C had nothing to say about any style, including Hip-hop. Hopefully he'll be able to do some crump choreography this season. I'll miss his perfect nails, but I'm glad he's out. I love Shankman.

Some parentheticals
At least early on, I think that it might be easier to accompany some of these names with a descriptive parenthetical. Especially since all the male contemporary dancers look REALLY similar. Russell could be "Dreads" or "Crump." Kevin should be "Cornrows". Is Nathan "floppy dark hair," or the

I'm not doubting the TALENT LEVEL of the dancers on the show. These are all really good dancers (except for Evan). I'm doubting the charisma of some of the performers especially in relation to Season 4, as well as the chemistry that the dancers had among one another.

All of the top performers were looking pretty well put together. I wondered if the dancers had an idea about who was going to be in the Top 20 based on how long each one spent in hair and makeup.

There will be, but he'll only dance to Will Smith songs.

Weird Chronology
So we ended last week in Vegas, and when we picked up today, somehow we were in L.A. and Victor's hair had had time to grow three inches? How long was the break here?

I actually agree with Geniveve on Kathryn. First it was kind of cute. Then it was annoying, then I was totally fascinated. How long can she keep that up? It was unbelievable.
