If I had to jump off a roof to avoid listening to 16:53 of Joanna Newsom, I'd totally do it. There are few things I hate more in life than dreamfolk. Joanna and Marissa Nadler can lick my butthole.

It's a grower
I got this album when it leaked back in July, so I've had some time to listen to it. My first reaction was just "eh, it's OK." All it made me want to do is listen to 'Alopecia.' But if you spin it a couple more times it starts to grow on you. Right now, I've definitely got 'Eskimo Snow' in my top 10 of

I liked them better when they were Coldplay.

Radiohead is boring.

Oh man, 'Capeman' is fantastic. "Bernadette" is one of Paul Simon's best songs. But, then again, he's not really in the habit of writing bad songs, is he?

Drive-By Truckers
I have now met every member of Drive-By Truckers at one show or another. They are all extremely nice people. After one of his shows here in town, Jason Isbell came to the party we were at and we ended up talking to him for two hours about The Clash and drugs. He was a very cool guy.

Oh God, the "Glitter Queen" struck again!

The cover of "Rebels" is from an episode of 'King of the Hill.' I've been waiting for that studio version ever since I saw that episode in either 2005/2006. I am a happy man now.

@Lovecraft in Brookly: It's funny you say that about it being a regional thing because I saw THS/DBT in Atlanta and almost everyone at the show that I talked to was there to see The Hold Steady. A couple years ago, a friend of mine got to interview Mike Cooley and he claimed that they were more popular (or at least it

DBT got a non-singing replacement for Isbell named John Neff to round off the three axe attack. He also doubles as their pedal steel player (he was in that band Japancakes, if that helps). I just saw them recently in Macon, GA and they still put on a hell of a show. Patterson Hood told the crowd that they had just

Someone take the firstie in the back and plug 'em into the hyperdrive.

… send in Vanilla Ice.

I really miss the summer-only limited edition orange flavored Mountain Dew Live Wire from the late 90's early 00's. Speaking of Mountain Dew, why do they only sell Mountain Dew Baja Blast at Taco Bell? That stuff is delicious but the only time I'm allowed to have it is to wash down the dogfood that place calls

Agreed. I knew this album was fantastic before I even heard the recorded version of it. I got to see Patterson debut a bunch of these songs with his band "The Screwtopians" (Actually just DBT minus Cooley & Shonna plus David Barbe from Sugar). Killer show. Wish I could've made it to AthFest last weekend.

"He had effectively long since ceased to exist as a human being anyway."

That was weird
"I love San Francisco, and it offers spectacular scenery of the city, and it adds to the uplifting quality of the movie. "

I got into The Louvin Brothers thanks to a little band from Lawrence, Kansas called Drakkar Sauna. They recently put out an album of nothing-but Louvin covers called "Wars & Tornadoes." It's all fantastic stuff.

@guy whitey corngood

Radiohead wins the award for most the boring band that I can think of.
