I recently finished vol 3 of New Teen Titans — great stuff. I'm concurrently reading vol 3 of Doom Patrol archives, which is when Beast Boy is introduced, so that was pretty cool.

And really, that's one of the main points of the movie. That even though the outward "drama" is fairly mundane — Riley moves to a new city, is homesick — there is real internal drama. Showing just the outward parts defeats the purpose.

I started with Naked Lunch, then Junkie and Queer, then the Nova trilogy and Wild Boys. I was reading a lot of Kathy Acker at about the same time. Then I kind of petered out on Burroughs and have never read the final trilogy. But they had a big impact on me at the time.
