What Would Jack Burton Do

Actually, it wasn't her either.  You're correct about Breandan being in the front, but it was a male in the trunk.  Who it is is unknown at this point.  Anyway, I actually liked it.  Sure, it's nothing that hasn't been done before, but it's only one episode in so it could have some surprises coming up.

If I were hard-pressed to pick a favorite, I'd go with the self-titled.  Figure 8 is probably the only one that fluctuates in and out as my favorite besides that one.  XO or Either/Or also work.  Roman Candle is great too but he was just starting to figure out his sound, and From a Basement is also great but I would

Yeah it used to really bother me when people would ask how I could listen to him so much because he was "too depressing".  There was a sense of hope to a lot of his songs that maybe wasn't easily noticeable on the surface, but it was there and it helped.  Though certain songs (Happiness being the biggest example) were

@avclub-ffc2c137ac50f2b5c98536d558642273:disqus I guess I should say it's basically the same version that appeared later on New Moon but it's just not as polished.  It may even be a case of it simply being a shitty-audio quality MP3 but it adds a certain…something to the song.  And for years it was the only version

I think the hardest thing about his death, for me, was the fact that I (like many others) had his albums to help me through some really shitty hard times.  I hate the fact that he couldn't find something to give him that same comfort.

"She Won't Look at Me" is probably my favorite.  I also love "See You In Heaven" but it always leaves me wanting lyrics.  The melody is just lovely.

I love that version of A Distorted Reality.  I also love the super-lo-fi, untouched version of Angel in the Snow.

In all seriousness I fucking love "Ninja Assassin".

I've been saying the same thing since the first reviews started coming out, and I just saw that Rex Reed HATED it today so now I'm thinking it may be my favorite movie of the year.

Yeah I rented it last night, and liked it way more than I figured I would.

@avclub-e0f48a1058f0f0204b22d4a2fd6f18ae:disqus The line about getting kicked out of Soundgarden being a blessing in disguise was goddamn absurd.

Seriously what the fuck? It's only the best album of the year.

One other thing I love is that a then-unknown Danny Trejo pops up for three seconds before being massacred.  As a kid I had no idea who he was, obviously, so when I saw it again a few years ago I recognized his voice instantly (you hear it before he's shown) and then he just gets blown the fuck away.  Hilarious.

"Alone in the Dark" is also goddamn great.

Oh you really need to. It's such a great, fun movie.

Thank you for this

Fuck, there were a few in there I haven't heard yet but your taste seems really close to mine (Run the Jewels might end up my AOTY) so I'll check some of those out.  Thanks for posting this.

I'm laughing right now just reading this

You are the worst kind of person.

Or, you know, the fact that gay people are getting ever-closer to being treated like actual human beings by the entire country?  That or the gay puppet sex. I guess it depends on how you read between the lines on this story.
