What Would Jack Burton Do

I just watched the first "Lethal Weapon" the other day.  It was the first time I had watched anything of his (where he was in front of the camera, anyway) since those recordings came out.  It was literally all I could think about.  I'm really good at separating the art from the artist, but it's really REALLY hard with

"Yes, Mr. Gibson…..(clears throat, dramatic pause) Jewish people, amirite?"

Yep, that's how I'll always remember him.  "Pieces" is one of my all-time favorites.  His delivery of the line "Yes, he's unmarried and lives with his mother" makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Interesting choice on Nolan's part to make Bane a sympathetic villain.

I don't think OP was saying that "writing one's own songs=doesn't suck", but he was talking about the "authenticity" question.

You really should.  I put it right up there with The Office's special, personally.  The funny moments work, and it does a great job of adding human, dramatic touches, much like "The Office" finale.

Oh yeah? You should do a Ctrl+Fuck off.

Oh, nonsense.

Wow.  That just shows how much I've erased Schumacher's Batman films from my brain.  I fucking forgot Bane was already in a Batman film.

I'm definitely going to start using this.

Yep.  I absolutely love this movie.

Late to this, but I agree with the consensus that "Things Fall Apart" is the best place to start.  However, you honestly can't go wrong with any of their albums.  They're so consistently great.

Yeah, I have his solo album, and I agree.  "Real Desire" is a great song.

Which is why I'm perfectly fine (scratch that—happy) with the success they've managed to find in the last few years.  They still sound like The Black Keys, and managed to find a wider audience.  Good on them.  Also, this new album is fantastic.

"The Lengths" is my favorite Black Keys song, without a doubt.

God I love that so much.  I'm seriously so bummed about this.

"The Infamous" is in my top 20 favorite albums ever made.  Favorite track is "Give Up The Goods (Just Step)".

I really like this EP, actually.  I've fully accepted that they'll never match "The Infamous" or "Hell On Earth", but this is their best offering since "Murda Muzik", and way better than anything they've put out in the 2000s.

Your description of "Shoot 'Em Up the sandbox game" just bumped this to #1 on my most wanted list.

As an admitted STP and "12 Bar Blues" fan, if you've heard his second solo album none of this would be surprising to you.
