What Would Jack Burton Do

Yeah, I agree with you there.  Something to break up the pacing would have been nice.

I want this album to be the instrumentals for "12 Bar Blues", only with Christmas lyrics, just so there's a shit-ton (well, a few I guess) of confused families sitting around on Christmas Day listening to a straight-up heroin album while they open presents.

Thanks for that, as it pretty much says everything I feel about this movie.  I also love Deep Blue Sea, so that was nice.  I guess I need to re-watch "Running Scared".  I saw it once, and had no idea how I felt about it, but I've always wanted to re-watch it, and this just confirms that I should.

Yeah, I agree on both counts.  Beady Eye wasn't terrible, which I was surprised by, because Noel is the obvious talent in the band.

I don't want them to get back together, and I say that as an Oasis fan.  The last two Oasis albums, while an improvement on the few prior, still sounded like Noel coasting.  His solo album is (as was stated above) good, and blows the Beady Eye album (which was mediocre at best) out of the water.  It seems like the

"Punisher:  War Zone" is a fucking awesome, underrated movie, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

That's seriously awesome.  What a batshit crazy (and awesome) movie that is.  If it weren't for Peter Bark, it would be a somewhat forgettable Italian sleeze-fest, but with him (and that whole creepy subplot with his mom) I'll remember that movie on my fucking death bed.

Holy shit, is your avatar Peter Bark from "Burial Ground"?

Woah.  Agree with stickybeak.  That's a good one.  Write that shit!

I use the term "stinky old man" pretty regularly thanks to that sketch.

I'll make it a D'Amato double-feature with "Anthropophagus: The Grim Reaper".  Nothing brings a family closer like watching a fetus pulled from a woman's stomach and eaten.

Holy shit, did you just reference the "old prospector" sketch that was cut from SNL?  Because that sketch is great.

No, but it's on my list of things to see.  Is it weird that what you just said made me even more intrigued?  Because I am.

@avclub-95999ca2b8843b5afc101002d749ceb6:disqus , yeah that version was HEAVILY edited.  It's really easy to find the uncut version at this point.  Worth a re-watch, for sure.

Also, the very last shot is a contender for the most "what the fuck?" moment in all of Italian cinema, which is really saying something.  I actually may need to watch that one again tonight.

Also, "The New York Ripper" is such a strange little movie, even by Fulci standards.  I own it, but it gets watched the least out of everything I have of his.  Like it was said above, it should be funny, but there's something about it that makes me feel so dirty when I watch it, and I'm really desensitized to

It's still "The Beyond" for me, followed closely by "Zombie".  I'm really excited for "The House By The Cemetery" to get a deluxe DVD release this month, though.

By the way, awesome write-up.  I love these films, and you did a great job with this GtG.

Here's a fun game:  Make up a giallo title.
