I tried it when it was a part of the Nerve/Village Voice/Etc. network. Maybe it is still, but I've had zero luck with it since it became Zoosk. Of course, that could be more related to living in New Jersey instead of New York, or being 8 years older now.

@ Forget_it_Jake:

I just assumed Will Smith would play a Daddy Warbucks type character. I heard he's trying to get Tom Cruise to go drag as Miss Hannigan.

No one else for Punchline? I love him in that.

Thanks! At least the ad was for Captain America's shield.

Lovecraft,

The worst part is having to follow the employee down the line as they build the sandwich. I trust them to make my sandwich as I asked (politely) for it, but instead I wind up trailing them like I'm just waiting for themto fuck up and put mayonnaise on there.

My sophomore year G&T English class spent 2 days watching this film. I have no recollection of being assigned any work related to it, just all 5 of us being totally blown away.

Earth Abides
I never get tired of Earth Abides. Various scenes will pop into my head periodically and I'll have the urge to pull the book out and read the whole thing. I currently have 3 copies because I couldn't locate one right when I wanted to read it.

Right there with you on the Heinlein love. I re-read Time Enough For Love, To Sail Beyond The Sunset and Number of the Beast once or twice a year. I also have a weakness for Spider Robinson's Callahan series.

@ Aqualad,

@ ElPato:
In the 90's almost anyone could open a comic book store and make money off of the collector's market that was so prevalent during that time. So, you did see upscale comic stores opening up that offered clean, well lit, family-friendly atmospheres. Sadly, when people got sick of the die-cut foil crossover

Bradley Cooper
Come on. They gave you like 4 lines and your delivery still sucked. It was charming, but really, how hard is it to pronounce Eugene Levy? Hint: It's L-eh-vy, as in "meh", not L-ee-vy, as in "cheese".

Was on the LES yesterday and saw a 20-something (I can only assume he was a hipster), wearing a complete Adjustment Bureau/Mad Men getup. Slim-fitting grey suit, black tie and a sweet, sweet matching fedora.

Obligatory Hater criticisim
I think Amilie needs to have a talk with whoever's in charge of organizing the index. It's really obvious that person thinks the list reads left to right from unbearable to tolerable.

orphans [?]!

Yes, but what is Wonder Woman going to do about those smack-addicted orphans!

It's been a while, but as I recall, I liked American Gods. I find Gaiman's novels more enjoyable on the second read because I know which dull parts I can skim through to get back to the main stories.

Geoffrey Arend will always be the Snozberries kid from Super Troopers to me.

@Ben Folds Fan: I occasionally babysit 2 Junior High-age kids across the street from me. Their all time favorite movie? Master of Disguise. They know the dialogue by heart. Their second favorite movie? Drillbit Taylor. I tried to broaden their scope by bringing over My Neighbor Totoro, and they were unimpressed. So.
