Starship Troopers
I loved Starship Troopers when it first came out and vigorously defended it to uncomprehending friends. I feel like mailing the special edition DVD to each one of them with a snarky note.

The original Abyss and Sunshine. Both great sci fi movies that were ruined by awful, awful, awful endings.

Memorial Day Weakened
I actually wanted to go see a movie this weekend, then looked at what was on offer and decided to catch up on Breaking Bad instead.

I'm so glad Genevieve said Ke$ha, because she drives me batshit. She is so aggressively talentless and contrived.

This is a great idea, because the part I hated most about lost was that it was a serial drama with a rich underlying mythology.

The last ten minutes cheapened the previous 2:20, and while on balance it was a decent finale it could have been much, much better.

I finally got to read this after hearing so much buzz about it, and I wasn't disappointed. Spectacular book.
