Surely Hartman and Candy (may they rest in peace) are deserving of all the tributes we can throw at them, but the story of a well-adjusted, well-liked, mentally stable, nice, normal guy who also happened to be a ridiculously gifted comedian doesn't make for the same kind of compelling storytelling as the story of a

I imagine a lot of them know Newman only through his Pixar songs, and not from his earlier 'catchy melody + cute vocal delivery + bitterly cynical lyrics' years. Pointing 'em all to Short People, Sail Away, and I Love LA ought to shut them up.

I wouldn't mind having an ATM in my kitchen giving me free money all day, even if it insulted me from time to time.

Nah, it's a matter of context; the doofus singing "Hey There Delilah" sounds like he thinks he's being amazingly deep and profound, whereas good ol' Axl sounds like he just wants to have a beer and get laid.

God, that's such a bad song… and yet somehow it doesn't make me want to throw things the way that "Hey There Delilah" does. The sheer laziness of rhyming "city" with "pretty" pisses me off much more than it should.

Goddam Devo, when will they not be relevant?

Hey, turns out the 90s were pretty good! And don't forget:

I for one am glad to hear this; the first few episodes were pretty good, and this seems like a show that could be terrific if/when it gets into a groove.

Jeez… I just saw it on TCM a few weeks ago, and I couldn't tell you the first thing about the story. I vaguely remember that there's a foot chase at the airport at the end that's not nearly as good as the car chase, and that Robert Vaughn played a sleazy bureaucrat (surprise!), and that Jacqueline Bisset looked damn

Thanks for this, Will.

True story… I saw Air Force One in the theater, and my *parents* were laughing about the bad CGI during the plane crash.

Don't forget about Version 1.0 of this phenomenon: Christopher Lloyd (the actor) vs Christopher Lloyd (the TV producer).

But if we're going to be fair, it must be pointed out the British TV show debuted in 1961, while Marvel's Avengers #1 came out in 1963.

Three things:

Not too bad, but Sidney Lumet and Jonathan Demme (in only for Silence of the Lambs and Stop Making Sense) are conspicuously missing.

When I started my first real job, I asked my boss if my business cards could have 'The Guy in Charge of Bolts' as my title. Sadly, it was not to be.

Bib Fortuna: Don Jabba, I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your home on the wedding day of your daughter. And may their first child be a masculine child.

Romper Stomper too.

Note to SyFy: you're doing it wrong. Sam Elliott was born to provide Karellan's voice.

No, no… I'll get the Bactine.
