Comment of the day.

A lot of people STARTED watching because it was cool. That doesn't mean they won't KEEP watching. That even includes teenage girls in Uggs and tights!

The split season definitely didn't help. And it being split the way it was, by companion—with Clara-not-Clara showing up in the Christmas special—made it feel like two truncated seasons.

I agree with the overall feeling. Something about, as you said, the last year and a little bit has been off. It's not Moffat. I prefer series five and six to series one through specials. What is it? What's gone wrong? It started before the Ponds left, but got worse with the back half of series seven. And it's not

Amazing episode. I was so proud of myself for not crying as he regenerated on top of the tower. And then it turned out, no, of course Moffat wasn't going to let me off that easy. Totally got teary at the end.

Grumble grumble pout pout just pick up Bunheads grumble grumble pout pout.

Sheryl.

Ditto. (For your name. Copper boom!)

She reminded me too much of the plasmavore in Smith and Jones, physically. I found it distracting.

Calling it: Strax is actually the Moon.

So….no more from TV Club this season?

Holy fuck, @avclub-2a29652e886ba40c4c964caabeef433f:disqus is amazing.

My assumption was that he realized something was going wrong, opened the door to see what, got blown out, and the Tardis shut herself.

But what if River Song turns out to be Clara?

"Unless it was written by a non-Time Lord, but it would have to be someone who knew enough about it, possibly through research via time travel . . ."

Insane, Obviously Wrong Theory Corner: The Emma/Hila relationship thing is a hint to the fact that Clara is her own great-great-granddaughter and her own great-great-great-great-great-great-great-etc-grandmother and the Doctor is freaking out for no reason. After all, Gwyneth the psychic funeral home maid and Gwen

I….you fell in love with it based on that? I'm just…confused. I'm not nearly as much of an EoT (or Simm Master) hater as many, but I can't imagine falling in love with the show from that, partly because it must have been weird without knowing the backstory. I mean, it was a wrap up of four+ years of RTD and three+

But a fun asshole. I think Matt Smith gets that right. When Nine was an asshole, I just wanted to punch him. When Ten was an asshole, I just wanted to burst out laughing, because he made a terrible asshole. Eleven? Eleven is a multi-dimensional person, he loves, he laughs, and he can be a dick. And he's by far the

I loved the cloister bell, but I wonder how many people got confused and thought it was the ghost. You have to be up on your mythology and/or have thoroughly watched the few NuWho episodes where the've gone off (The Eleventh Hour, The God Complex—what else?) to get the reference.

I started watching with series 5, and halfway through got fed up with not knowing anything about 1-4. I speed-Netflixed through those four (+specials), and then moved into a rewatch of The Eleventh Hour the same day. I think my jaw literally dropped at how much better the show looks. The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang
