Tessa is totally the next Liz Lemon. And I don't mind that.

Like a young Jessica Chastain. Or just Jessica Chastain.
There's a difference between trying new things as part of a show's central vision and just doing things to string a show along. Kaling has no central vision to her show.
At that point, the cost benefit is weighing the value of live TV versus having those casual, ambient viewers who would watch online. In this and most cases, live TV has much more NPV.
Too bad the entire rest of The AV Club world disagrees with you. Might be time to head to TWoP.
This show has had 17 episodes. If it doesn't know its voice by now — or at the very least what its strengths are —, it's not going to figure it out.
It's fine, typical ABC Family Tuesday fare.
But of course, they're going to run re-runs first before airing new episodes.
It's also a way to disrupt the behavior of young people (the younger subset of 18-34) who are reliant on watching TV on their own terms. Because the steaming ad industry is underdeveloped (which makes zero sense), forcing people to wait until the next episode airs re-creates a primacy of live TV, which…
I mean, that's the way they preserve the "integrity" and primacy of live TV. From a purely business perspective, I totally get it.
Pretty much every Suburgatory episode that hasn't had an emotional undertone has fallen tremendously flat. Outside of the Eden stuff, 'cuz, well…, We can forget that ever happened (as much as I love Clueless, that wasn't worth it).
No it isn't. Even with my favorite marshmallow, Don Cheadle, and Jean-Ralphio, that show isn't worth it.
You mean Dalia, not Yakult, right?
I appreciate how they're trying to dig into Ellie and Andy's marriage. Their execution? Not as much.
At the very least, this show is so assured of itself. And on a sidebar, Go On's getting better. Miss a place to discuss it.
This? Understood. Suburgatory? It's been not so good this season (outside of the holiday episodes, which are always amazing.)
You might miss a few gags, but the characters are typecast enough that you can hop in and laugh right away. Plus, you know all of the major plot points for this season.
@Nathan Ford's Evil Twin: Suburgatory's not performing as well as you say it is.
FUCK YEAH FUCKIN NEW GIRL (pats self on back)
These final few episodes have been great!
