My two cents: sitcoms can't be watched in a binge, at least at first watch (I categorize binge as watching at least 6 episodes or more at a time, consecutively). You lose sight of all of the pop-culture references and stakes if you binge-watch.

It also sucks, because I end up spoiling everything for them, or have do ask if they need a spoiler warning.
Neilsen overnights mean the most, nothing else. Season passes and online viewership do help, but those economics are so small compared to ad revenue that the Cancellation bear really only cares about 18-49 demos.
That Thursday 8:00 hour is just a hub for TV, with >12% of 18-49 watching TV at that time (on network TV).
I totally forgot about Danny and Mr. K, whoops.
I'm skimming these comments below and all I can say is, folks, this is a Chuck Lorre show. No need for deep pondering or review.

1.8!!! That's a pretty great demo
If you are a Neilsen HH, that is… Otherwise it doesn't really matter
So you're essentially a movie person who will watch long-form movies.
I read that it and didn't understand that viewpoint at all. 30 Rock is not about emotional stakes or a story, whatsoever. How moronic.
Emotional stakes definitely don't mean as much when you marathon it. I marathon a lot (like finishing Bunheads in a day), but it's often either a second watch or to catch up on a show I want to watch regularly (each week).
Outside of the "Leonard is a punching bag"-issue that is recurring with this show, this episode was great. Or at least the A-plot was.
"All grades are relative to it is own standards/quality". Salvo.
I definitely enjoyed them bringing up the Howard's mom gag. Perhaps even a little HIMYM reference there.
I still love Community dearly, but this felt more like Happy Endings at Greendale Community College than it did Community.
I don't think this show cares much about continuity (at re: the Luke part).
The show uses Dalia so sparingly that she's always gonna be funny. It sucks, because the more Dalia the better.
Best part of the episode, by far. TVBTN must be grinning right now.
This second season has been really really mediocre. I love Suburgatory a lot, but this season hasn't been must-see outside of the holiday episodes (per usual) and some Shay-family shenanigans.
