I was lucky enough to watch "White Tulip" as my introduction into the series, then I followed it up watching "Peter". Those two episodes enraptured me, so I blitzed through the first season (and Fringe became the first box set I ever purchased, and the first time I felt compelled to support a show — even though the

Same, and same. What blissful serendipity.

Is it relevant through given the Observers-vantage of the opening credits?

Forget any rational explanations, the answer to your question is an EMPHATIC NO.
