That certainly got to me.  My six year old had been hearing about it from class-mates in school, and although he has never really read the Avengers comics, he likes super-heroes like many boys his age.  So instead, I got to share the movie with him, and we could talk about the same things.

I had the same experience after reading a Talking Heads biography.  It took me a few years to put up with Byrne for a while after that.  I had built him up as a congentially weird person, and it was inspirational for teen/college-age gphatty.  I was so let down.

2nded.  Granted, I love musicians replicating what was originally only created with synths & machines, but hearing Airports done with real instruments is a beautiful thing.  It trades the mechanical nature of sterile environments (airports, etc. — and this is a large part of the charm of the original) for something

Can't reply to you below, but as it turns out, I don't have access to Paris 1919.  (And I call myself a VU obsessive.  Ha!)  Must rectify immediately.  Thanks.

I'm glad someone mentioned Wrong Way Up.  It's amazingly shimmering, pretty, and catchy.  Weird in all the right ways, yet still very enjoyable.
I'm probably most surprised that Cale could be that poppy, ever.

It might be that this episode aired during the growing rise of VCR's — or maybe it's our average age around here — or some combination of both — but it's obvious to me that this was a perfect example of A Very Special Episode.  From reading all the comments — and laughing at all the references and quotes from the show

New to SportsNight — but I loved NewsRadio write-ups, so I'm down for this.
New to Sorkin, though.  (From what I've read/heard/seen, he wouldn't be my cup of tea, and there's lots of stuff to see/hear/read out there.)  I wasn't expecting the highly verbal writer to be funny, so I was pleasantly surprised how often I

Perhaps Jaguar's approval was bought with the real live Hendricks behind the scenes?

That's probably the only bad part about this news.  I love "No!" so much, I've learned to play or sing half the songs for story-time or library visits at work.  But apparently, I've been doing this for a decade, so it's not really "a new song by TMBG".  Damn.

Swear to god, this is just too f'ng conincidental to not lay at Harmon's feet.  (At least, not after searching through the commentary in the last several weeks.)  He already gets credit for being some form of pop culture idiot savant, but this level of co-incidence is amazing.   Check out Boston Pillow Fight 2012.  htt

Totally agree.  I love at least half the songs at the album — used Dancing Lessons at my wedding; such a sweet romantic song that I would never have thought she had in her — and the remaining songs are still interesting enough.
I'm glad to hear that this album might have some of Faith & Courage's charms.
