I'll vouch for the cost of their stuff.  I wanted to listen to more of the Sound, but their stuff was almost impossible to find, and it was really really expensive when you did.

I totally love(d) DHC.  So great.  I think they just got lost in the shuffle for a lot of people- too ska (and therefore novelty) for some, too punk-y for others.  But all around excellent in my book.

I will now have to investigate them further, as my answer for this question was actually James.  I'd always blown off these guys without really listening to them- something about their name made me think they'd be more like These Animal Men or S*M*A*S*H.

I'll concur with the Old 97's all the way too.  I've never played them for a single person that didn't later get into them.  Great live show, songs you can sing to, songs you can drive to, the girls think they're hot.  Songs in movies and tv.  They deserve more.

Two:
1. James.  Everyone I've played them for has ended up really liking them.  Aside from the name being confusing and impossible to Google well, it's a mystery.
2. Manic Street Preachers.  They wouldn't have been for everyone, but I always thought that if they'd gotten a spot opening for Smashing Pumpkins back when

This was less any sort of genre commentary than a flat out effort to make a movie that acted like a video game. And a rather poor video game at that.

Sorry, should clarify: in the terms of this list, I meant all the various clones that came out at the same time. So, Suddenly Susan, Veronica's Closet, Caroline in the City, Good Morning Miami, a whole bunch of other crap I can't remember.  I remember Good Morning Miami.  How sad is that?

This list is suspiciously missing Friends and the six billion other shows it spawned.  That probably would've made the list too long though.

Whoah whoah whoah people, are we all just glossing over the fact that Rabin hasn't seen Beverly Hills Cop?

Warren Sapp…ugh.  Awful.

I'm curious- what were the lawsuit & problems with Coming to America?  I'm far too lazy to look it up, but don't recall hearing anything about that.

I like that he mentions still enjoying rock climbing.  I saw them once ages ago, and he was talking to a girl after the show about working at REI or some place like that.  I'd never considered that a band of that level still had to have real jobs.  Like…but they're the Archers of Loaf…all my friends know them….how are

I saw one other review of this that also gave it an A.  I wouldn't have guessed that with MMA being the sport, but two solid reviews got my interest up.

Borders was originally from Ann Arbor, MI.

Rizzo's got a bun in the oven.

to nitpick, 'made the trains run on time' is a phrase regarding Mussolini, not Eichmann.  And no, Mussolini did not actually make the trains run on time.

State by State with the State.  Read it, learn it, love it.

'Touch Me, I'm Sick' didn't make the cut?  Sad.

OH MY GOD- I've been trying to find the name of the Bruno & Boots series for years.  THANK YOU x a million.  All I could remember was that they were Canadian and lived in some sort of academy or boarding school.  And I was pretty sure one of the stories ended up with them changing the flag with underwear or

I would pay good money to have Party Down cater in real life.
