what's the Sox blog?

This would've been a lot easier to listen to if you didn't have an ad that started playing sounds at the exact same time.   Nice job, ad sales.

is that what we ate?  urrp

Doc Hammer's the kind of guy that, when thinking of a soap opera, comes up with Falcon Crest.  (which, now that I think about it, does have a Venture-esque name)

I'll concur- I'm now excited for this.  I'm getting a bit of an Eternal Sunshine vibe from it, which is good.

Positives: A writer from the first two seasons of Community and the last two of Happy Endings.  I like Ari Graynor, I like Ryan Hansen, I like Sara Gilbert, and I like Kristin Davis.
Cons:  let's go with the plot.

"When I used to go out I would know everyone that I saw,
Now I go out alone if I go out at all"

You're potentially in a year of new Lauryn Hill, new D'Angelo, new David Bowie, new Daft Punk, new Boards of Canada, and new My Bloody Valentine.

Just when I think I won't be amazed today, someone busts out talking about the Spent Poets.  'Dogtown' is fantastic.

good lord, she looks like Carrot Top in drag

i won't say a hero, cause what's a hero?

the new Suede is indeed on Spotify

Clive Owen's in it?  Huh.

Upon closer inspection, this seems like a weak year.   Intrigued by the Mercury Rev, and curious about the Flaming Lips putting out Zaireeka on vinyl.

I loved it for the phrase "critically destroyed" in reference to the movie Something Borrowed.

Yep- that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the obituary.  I was a kid and had never heard of him, and that commercial made it seem like he was this huge star.

the UB40 track is a miss, but I give everything else on there a pass.  Man I love that Ian McCulloch song.

I'm in marketing, and I think on the whole we're pretty upfront about being insufferable.  It's not like it's something you discover about the industry after you're in it.

He's easily my least favorite part of the show.  Or of anything he's in, pretty much.
