Agreed. I don't watch this show often, but I've seen enough that I'm familiar with Mordecai and Margaret's will they/won't they thing.

It does look awful. Read interviews with Mindy Kaling for the last couple of years. It's pretty much exactly what she had unironically envisioned for herself. 
Expect a very similar movie written by and/or starring her in the near future.

I think he intended to "cleanse" Gotham of its corruption and crime by destroying it, whereas Talia was clearly just acting out of revenge. I mean, by the time of TDKR, Gotham had already been cleaned up by the police and Batman. And the League…
