If you're planning on seeing this movie, DON'T!

He had a good bit part in "Red Rocks West".

The song "Thirteen" is just about the best song about being a teenager ever.

I will now listen to Big Star and that one Replacements song. To me this is about as bad as when Joe Strummer died.

No "Great White Hope"?
No love for Jack Johnson?

And speaking of Dwight Yoakam. . .
. . . him and k. d. lang do a good cover of "Sin City".

Glad to see Ballard made the cut.
I loved "Day of Creation". It's like a modern "Heart of Darkness" in a fever dream.

"If I Was a Carpenter"
Despite the cover art, that is actually a pretty respectful album. Most of the artists do pretty straightforward, respectful covers of the songs. And it contains the only good Dishwalla song ever.

They used to play "Superstar" as a midnight movie at the Castro theater before it got the kibosh. I had heard it was Matell that sued over the use of the barbie dolls.

It wasn't cocaine. It was chopped up daffodils that he snorted through a straw.

I like these "orphan" movies more than the top picks
Go figure.

Still no mention of David Allen Coe or Johnny Paycheck?
WTF?

one, two, three, fourteen.

Besame mucho!
Who does that one?

Will John Prine make the cut?
Steve Goodman and John Prine can't be beat.

Froggish Men Unpleasant to Seeā€¦
He's kind of like a cool Sony Bono.

Ditto. I'm looking forward to the Townes article. "Pancho and Lefty" is a classic (if somewhat opaque).

STRUTTER!
Everybody say she's looking good
And the lady knows it's understood!
Strutter!

I thought you'd have a snarky reply about me not being able to find another kind of button.
