Since music and film are subjective, the AV Club isn't exactly the authority on anything.  Sometimes I agree with their reviews.  Sometimes I don't.

I agree with that too.  Just because a group kicks out a good album shouldn't make criticism against future albums off limits.

Totally agree.  Kind of sliding toward youtube it feels like sometimes.  Though, to be fair, I still see some really great posts or threads sometimes that remind me why I enjoy the commentariat.

I'm actually really shocked by the comments. They're really negative. There was a time when Animal Collective was sacred ground here at the old AV Club.  It's weird (and sad) that I've been hanging around long enough to see backlashes - or at least such a shift in zeitgeist.
