I completely agree. Also the target audience being teenagers, the use of the hood as a hoodie was exceedingly annoying. In that show, when Robin is sad, he pulls up his hood and sulks alone in the woods. Which I think was supposed to make teenage girls go "aaaaaaaaaaw" or something.

Same here. And like Zetes I am not at all averse to a slow-moving film. But, as in Drive, I thought the movie was trying much too hard to be intellectual and ended up kind of empty.

That's just sick. I guess it's a nice gift for the very annoying niece who won't stop whining.

We had a discussion after the movie : one of my friends insisted that Ralph Fiennes's character was in fact a traitor because of some weird moment when he closes a door during a shootout. Most of us remained unconvinced. Did this occur to anyone else ?

I really enjoyed this one. The idea really was fascinating, although sometimes somewhat headache-inducing : trying to imagine the world described in the novel is, almost by definition, impossible. And yet Fforde managed to write a very funny, and somewhat heartbreaking book. To cut a long story short, I want the next…

It isn't so unbelievable he should dispose of them so easily, when the armed thugs in the movie are stupid enough to kidnap rich, pampered american tourists because of course nobody will miss them. That's actually what bothers me the most in the ocean of implausibility that is this movie.

The usual question : if I were to read Stephenson's books, where should I start ?
