EIDan : that's what the beret is for, you know, chasing the flies.

to Cathartic Bullets : yes. But only because they make you obese, like all those gun crazy Americans.

You're right. When I first heard about Jerry Lewis, it was to learn that I was supposedly a big fan because I'm french.

A variation of this can be found in action movies, with the usual annoying wife / girlfriend character. You usually end up with dialogues like this : "I have to go. There is a nuclear bomb set to destroy everything, I'm the only one who can stop it." "But it is our anniversary ! You promised you'd be there ! That's…

But then again, it wasn't that bad. I was coerced into seeing it by some friends, and my expectations were so low that I was actually relieved to see that it wasn't as bad as, say, Bienvenus chez les Chtis. Still very corny, but with a few tasteless enough jokes.

And yet again it's a cheap knock-off of an american series…
This is why I much preferred the first book, which could be read as an awesome caricature of undergrad students.
HBO please. I like Spartacus, but, basically, they only kept the name. The real story of the punic wars could make an amazing series.
Besides, Suetonius served Trajan and Hadrian, and part of his job was to show that the Antonine dynasty was so much better than what came earlier. Hence all the slander.
Lots of things are indeed exaggerated, but it doesn't stop the series being wildly entertaining ; and it is never implied that anything that happens in the series amounts to a documentary. Part of the fun for me is watching familiar stories rewritten. Plus, if you're a teacher and you show it to your students you can…
You know, I'm french, and I never heard the name Jerry Lewis before discovering that French were supposed to love him.
Maybe also High Plain Drifters. SPOILERS One doesn't really know if Eastwood's character is a ghost or not. Although, strangely enough, the french version rips the ambiguity away and has the character say at the end that the man whose death he keeps seeing was his brother.
The clichés are a bit too much for me. I actually much prefer Rob Roy,also from the mid-90s. It's also filled with clichés, but there is this awesome duel at the end, which actually looked like fencing instead of dudes just hitting each other's sword.
Yeah. And Guy Fawkes the most famous Guy. But do they listen ? No !
