Great to see John Cena get an opportunity to show off his comedy chops

It's cool how each time this show gets a new av club reviewer their first episode starts with "I'm going to judge this on its own merits and it was surprisingly decent!" and then the grades gradually slide down and down and down until presumably they quit and the cycle begins anew.

A scathing look at adolescent nihilism driven by irony and the harm one can do to themselves and others through emotional distance. Or something. Or anything close to that, really.

This is the first I've heard of the movie. I love the idea, but after watching a few clips I'm not really convinced. It seems more like a savage indictment against… mildly obnoxious people, I guess? What am I missing here, because I feel like I'm more invested in the thesis than the actual movie is.

I would like to point out that it was not funny. It was tragic and cringey

Lucky Louie is a very different show. It is intentionally set up like a 1970s American sitcom, and without that context you might not get half as much out of it. It very earnestly pursues the sort of conventions that Louie busts apart. Just to be clear, since this is something a lot of people rag on when they dismiss
