the only restaurant I've been to that Blais is involved with is Flip Burger. And those burgers are amazing, albeit pricey. And the Nutella and burnt marshmallow milkshake is incredible.

well, I know who my celebrity BFF would be
he's incredibly down-to-earth, perceptive, talented, funny and he knows Patton Oswalt and Zach Galifianakis.

one of the most fun live shows I've seen
saw these guys in New York last October and it was a fucking blast. their enthusiasm is otherworldly and amazingly infectious. there's no trace of the affected hipster disinterest that you so often encounter at NY shows. everyone was dancing and shouting along and crowd

this is called "Enthusiasm for Life (Defeats Existential Fear)."
love these guys soooo much. now I feel like I need to see them in Atlanta in August.

Two Weeks is really off-key, which is weird because Grizzly Bear is usually so spot-on live. Maybe it's the monitors, but this sounds pretty awful.

why would the seats be free? nevermind, you made me laugh in spite of myself.

hot damn
not a Walkmen super-fan or anything, but homeboy can wail with the best of 'em.

dear p4k hipsters
the Thermals are bringing it. take Monch's advice and GET THE FUCK UP

Monch is awesome
and I am eagerly awaiting the Thermals - saw them in May and they were just so much fucking fun. they're good enough to make up for the countless shitty pop-punk bands we've had to put up with over the years.

all I wanna hear
from Final Fantasy is his cover of Bloc Party's "This Modern Love", which is just tremendous.

they seemed really nervous at first, but they're loosening up a bit, at least by retro indie-pop standards. they've got the songs, now they just need to get comfortable with being on stage.

even if every other set sucks, the sight of a skinny, Radiohead-shirt-wearing, mohawked hipster being delivered into the beefy waiting arms of Pink Eyes has made watching this webcast totally worth the time.

holy shit, Pink Eyes
you got your Ozzfest in my Pitchfork!

Pitchfork is live streaming the fest
and Cymbals Eat Guitars are straight KILLIN' it right now.

I'm enjoying this show
It reminds me of Eastbound & Down in that both shows seem like a single narrative feature chopped up into short half-hour episodes. It's not laugh-out-loud funny, but it's very watchable and has a lot of potential. The writers are doing an admirable job of keeping the show topical without

saw it last night
I laughed a whole lot, but it's definitely lacking the element of surprise that made Borat a cultural phenomenon of sorts. Cohen is still a really talented comedic performer, but Bruno only comes to life when he takes a step back and allows his subjects to self-destruct in spectacular ways. The

I just saw Public Enemies
and I thought it was tremendous. Truly exciting, visceral mainstream filmmaking like this comes along far too rarely. It will be widely despised by audiences and forgotten come Oscar time, but it deserves respect. Dante Spinotti's HD cinematography shakes off every stodgy period-pic cliche,

decent pilot
Tonally, the show is somewhere between the quirk-infested Weeds and the soul-crushingly bleak (but amazing) Breaking Bad, at least on the spectrum of recent cable series about ordinary people driven to desperate measures by dire economic circumstances. The balancing act seems a bit off in this first

Karma Police
Okay, I'm kinda young compared to most of you all.
