Drunken Unicorn. It was cheap, intimate and packed to the rafters.

That was an awesome show. I thought the crowd was about to start speaking in tongues or something. And the full-band version of "Coming to At Dawn" was simply incredible.

I'm glad this got a good review
so that hopefully people other than Krug fanboys (guilty) would give it a shot. I don't know if an A is enough to get people interested, but it certainly doesn't hurt. And the album completely deserves it. It's intricate and complex, but never less than enthralling. And Sunset Rubdown

Unfortunately, that jaw-dropping list of collaborators is all NASA has going for it. I found their album to be an unlistenable mess. Best hip-hop album I've heard this year is Mos Def's The Ecstatic, though the new J Dilla collection Jay Stay Paid is pretty great too.

Titus Andronicus, The Thermals, The Hold Steady, White Denim, Future of the Left, Mika Miko…if it's rawk you want, there's plenty to be found.

some unheralded albums
Bitte Orca, Veckatimest, and Merriweather Post Pavilion have been discussed enough.

along the lines of Sigur Ros
I would like to live in the video for "Glosoli".

I guess "genre" isn't the correct term.

What makes this track work
is that these guys have enough knowledge of the genre they're ripping off to make a song that sounds almost exactly like any number of electro-pop, r&b, autotune-laden hit singles from the past year. I bet The-Dream is listening to this and wishing he could have put it on his last album. and

Event Horizon
I was like eight or nine when that shit came out on video, and my dad was into sci-fi so he let me rent it. But by the time Sam Neill was running around with no eyes, and Laurence Fishburne was on fire, and the dead naked woman in the bathtub…I wanted out. Real bad.

No music video will ever match Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" for sheer fuck-up-ed-ness. Although the rest of the videos on the Chris Cunningham Director's Series DVD come close.

agreed x 3

Nope. That's what's in the lyrics, but the song is called "Silence Kit". I was a little confused when I first started listening to the record in high school, but then I just said "It's Pavement" and moved on.

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Not a concept album, but I've reached a point where I can't listen to "Silence Kit" without it segueing into "Elevate Me Later".

I'm pretty sure it was Twathammer. Which is perfect, considering what we know about Jesse and the utter awfulness of the song he and his former bandmate were playing.

Give 'im the stick! DON'T GIVE 'IM THE STICK!

Wow. …And Justice For All is fucking incredible. Even if the production sounds kinda weak. Seriously, where was I when people were listening to metal?

I don't listen to metal at all
But I make an exception for Mastodon. I think it's maybe Brann Dailor's drumming that seals the deal. Or the fact that they're from Atlanta, and so am I.

Shara Worden
is the reason to pick up Hazards of Love. her guest vocals are stunning, especially on Wanting Comes in Waves/Repaid.
