The Fountain
Good god this movie is gorgeous. Did it even come up?

I totally understand why people might hate Lost in Translation - my wife loathes it - but it will always be one of my favorites. That movie is exactly how it feels to be in a relationship but still feel lonely. I was doing the long-distance relationship thing when it came out, and I completely understood Murray and

Still?
No Flaming Lips? It may be that I live in OKC, but I'm honestly surprised by this.

I like "chutes too narrow," but I think 'wincing the night away" is much better as an album. I realize I'm in the minority.

I completely agree with you, Yergie.

Swiggers - I can see that, but why would that prevent their 2000's output from being included?

TV on the Radio
I'm not surprised by the staff selecting Return to… over Desperate Youth, but I am surprised that more people in the comments haven't mentioned Desperate, and by all the love for Dear Science.

I'm sorry to hear that. Yoshimi isn't a perfect album, but it's certainly a great one, and I think the same argument could be made for Embryonic.

Where are the Flaming Lips? Even though I absolutely love it, I've heard convincing arguments that Yoshimi is uneven. But Embryonic deserved at least a shot at this list, certainly over Hot Fuss, which had great songs, but was not a very good album.

A question
I'm sure adding a comment at this point in the hopes of getting a writer to see it is just silly, but here goes:

Ads are funny
The ad I got in my RSS feed was for…The Jay Leno Show!

James Murphy is the best lyricist working in rock music today. Listen to "All My Friends."

I wish I could save her / In some sort of time machine
Here's hoping there will be some NMH action in the score/soundtrack.

My favorite sentence from that obit: "He succeeded in part, but with serious unintended consequences."

I don't think it was the numbers of people the firebombings killed, or the brutality of the act that makes that story so powerful, but just the matter-of-fact way he talks about it in Fog of War. There were meetings held and graphs made - the coldness of the bureaucracy that spawned the action is somewhat more

@Mrs Richard F Schiller

Wow….McNamara's dead.
Well, I guess I now have something interesting to talk to my dad about when I see him this week. I had him watch Fog of War, but he just gets so blind-angry when ever McNamara is mentioned he sort of missed the point.

Episode 13
Is anyone else wondering if it would be better to not watch it? If it is an "epilogue" episode, does it pay to wait until after the season 2 premier?

Also, cash.

God, I am the worst IT person ever.
