Oh dear lord, has an entire week gone by? It'll be Mario Maker all the way down for me this weekend.

Yes, I understood the point he was trying to make. It wasn't a necessary point to make in the first place, as he tries to imply it is with his weak little disclaimer about how he doesn't like to do this. Like it's just his job and he had no other choice!

And thanks to the disclaimer at the start of the paragraph, we know that Rabin retains his feminist cred!

"I hate to write about actors' looks, but here's a big paragraph about how Samantha Mathis just isn't hot enough, complete with some examples of women who are, in contrast to Mathis, at an appropriate level of hotness for me, Nathan Rabin."

Well, don't I look a fool!

I liked Dragon God more in terms of "wow, this is pretty good spectacle!" than "wow, great gameplay!"

I haven't played it since the PS1 era, but I would say it's worth playing if:

haha You heard it here first, folks: there's no need to read articles when there are headlines right there telling you how wrong they are!

King's Field is a series of first-person hack-and-slash RPGs from From Software. Sort of the spiritual precursor to the Souls games, although they predate Miyazaki's involvement. I know I played one of the original PS ones, and for historical interest I watched a fair bit of a Let's Play of the final game in the

I found the Flamelurker to be a dreadfully boring fight! He wasn't really "hard," per se, but his health bar took forever to deplete so there were endless opportunities for me to make an unforced error and get stunlocked and destroyed!

With her eye swirling down the "drain" and being lost inside her own head? Yep, that's pretty terrifying!

"Don't touch that controller! Well, except maybe just once to get things started…"

I have! I was so happy to have finally completed an NPC questline on a first playthrough! AND THEN HE KILLED HIMSELF! WHY OSTRAVA?!?! WHY???

The amount of games to play in 1997 was staggering (damned emulators opening up a huge back catalog!). And back then I was just some punk with no real world responsibilities!

Also: I promised some feedback on your levels! Aside from my Miiverse comments (I'm Jamie!), I'll add this:

It's a Demon's Souls renaissance here at Gameological! I suspect I'll beat it this weekend!

I'm about to finish Demon's Souls, too! The clunkiness of the controls bugged me until I thought back to a Let's Play I tried to watch of a King's Field game and realized that, as a transitional game between two series, the combat probably worked like a cross between the two! So many enemies become easy when you adopt

The music ones at least have some sort of purpose for being. Most of them are unbearable. I have an idea for a parody one, but part of me feels like it's too mean-spirited for Mario Maker.

Admittedly, I could just go digging through old threads, but would you be willing to share a level code of yours right here, right now? I'd love to give them a whirl, but I'd also love to minimize my own effort!

Hawke, when it's "your" Hawke, is a way better character than the Inquisitor. But the "Hawke" that shows up in Inquisition, whining ceaselessly about the burdens of being a hero and generally just being not at all interesting?
