After OoT? That's tricky… I'd say Phantom Hourglass.

It's also subverted in some of the earlier games, when Link saves Zelda by following her detailed telepathic instructions. She's an agent in her own rescue a lot of the time, even if she is being rescued.

I'm really excited to pick this up tomorrow, although I probably won't get to play until Sunday. This review describes a game that pretty much perfectly meets my expectations: from the first moment it was announced, I was anticipating a Dynasty Warriors game with more polish, more variety, and more fan service.

Haha, this is true. But from *his* perspective, he did!

Indeed. If there's any threat Vic could never, ever make good on, it's hurting a helpless woman.

Yeah, it's a strange criticism. The threat is an ugly, ugly thing for a person to say. But of course it is! Vic is an ugly, ugly guy on the inside! Torturing and killing a man is an ugly, ugly thing to do!

SURELY YOU DON'T THINK THE SPOILERS WILL STOP NOW

"This iPhone 6 is so shoddy, it's like it was designed by engineers who weren't being constantly berated, insulted, and generally terrorized by a narcissistic asshole in a black turtleneck sweater!"

Alas, I'm just the next richest thing… a public service intern/graduate student.

Hmm… if Dark Souls is anything like the sequel, then intelligence and attunement are all you need for spells. However, you'd also have to build your strength and endurance. That seems possible, although with that one I found I focused on beefing up three core stats instead of four. So… maybe? Definitely on a NG+,

Oh, I have legitimately practical advice for you: stay out of that graveyard for now! You're not ready! Go Burg-wards and start ringing those bells!

I haven't checked out the first game's DLC yet, but so far I'm definitely enjoying the first of the Lost Crown Trilogy. And the screenshots I've seen of the other two episodes just look gorgeous!

I think that's pretty much exactly right. Sons has some great moments (and at least two near-great seasons), some great characters, and some great over-the-top violence.

I love that crazy Jester! So much that I wound up finishing my first playthrough with his armor on. Haven't reached the Squalid Queen yet, or any DLC boss for that matter… though I was about five feet from a fog wall when I finally learned what the petrification death animation looks like, so perhaps I'll be meeting

I remember having one Christmas morning's worth of fun with X-2 before it fell victim to my growing inability to commit to JRPGs. I still have it, though, and a Playstation 2 that I think might still work. And I did recently finish Bravely Default and Eternal Sonata. Maybe someday…

Then you'll have it well in time for them to start releasing interesting games on it!

"The ol' Dark Souls has a hold on me
Like a dog wrapped round my leg
Yeah, the ol' Dark Souls has a hold on me
How many times will I die today?
Heyyyy
How many times will I die today?"

I am so glad you mentioned Catherine, because that reminds me that I have access to systems that can play it now! Tried it for a few minutes at a friend's place years ago and really dug it.

It has no right to be, but somehow the sequel is even better. It may have even supplanted Mario 3 as my favourite Mario game.

I know what you mean about the disincentives to experimentation: when I played the first one, I changed exactly one piece of non-ring equipment the entire game, used only my starting weapon upgraded along the regular path, and made no use of magic or most items.
