I don't think you understand the breath and scope of Ghost in a Shell's influence on anime and science fiction, and cyberpunk more specifically. It still stands as the high water mark in all of those categories. Furthermore, it has a devoted fanbase that few anime franchises have enjoyed before or since its debut.

Wow. As far as these 8-bit tributes go that was easily the best one I have ever seen. It was beautifully drawn and animated with so much loving detail. Really well done. Kudos to whoispablo.
