I like a lot of that stuff, but if that movement produced only the Three O'Clock and the Rainy Day compilation (which features Ms. Hoffs' gorgeous version of "I'll Keep It With Mine"), it would have been worthwhile.

I second that second of that emotion.  Virgins and Philistines is damn near perfect.  I have to listen to it at least once a month.  And it's one of the least eighties-sounding of eighties records.  Could be 1967, could be this afternoon.  Either way, it's wonderful. Even the preachy anti-animal abuse song works.
