You don't need to apologize for not liking the show (or at least you don't need to me, for how little that's worth) Even though I like the show, I understand it has considerable faults. They're just faults for whatever reason I find charming. If I believed in guilty pleasures, I would count The Newsroom as one of

I owe a debt to Nash Bridges for teaching me all the great action show cliches. There's not an episode where Nash doesn't run up against an obstructive bureaucrat, a crazed slasher going after his daughter, a drug lord who had a past run in with Nash, or something of that nature. And for that, I'll keep my fondness

It's hard to imagine a politician as sharp as Abraham Lincoln falling the way of Andrew Johnson after holding Congress together during the freakin' war. Lincoln can fight off Congress after major Union defeats that brought people to question his ability as Commander-in-Chief but he fails during Reconstruction? Even

Bane was pretty good until the very end when Talia calls him "friend" before heading off to ensure their deaths. In that moment, I recognize Bane is pretty much the platonic ideal of a friendzone guy.

Gotham City's police continue to impress me with their gross incompetence. They 1) Did not secure every person at a major gun fight, allowing Catwoman to get away. 2) They did not send one cop to chase a guy who just broke into the stock exchange and killed a bunch of people. 3) They send EVERY officer into the sewers

My impatience/general lack of trivia knowledge meant I rarely tried to solve the mystery but Sobol taught me that to get most out of a book, you had to read very, very carefully. And for that, I owe him a lot.

I've seen Peter Parker bit by a radioactive spider so many times on television, film, collective cup series- that the entire concept has lost any of its artistic energy. The next reboot should take a page from how Shakespeare is kept fresh: make it more conceptual. Imagine a blank stage where Andrew Garfield is

Indeed. And no matter what anyone said about him, H.W. always kept Lee Atwater close.

I understand that the next couple episodes are suppose to be really awful but I don't understand the bad reviews for the pilot and this episode. They were perfectly fine, "B" shows. If this is "bad" Sorkin, there's no such thing as "good" Sorkin (well maybe Social Network but no good TV Sorkin). That's a very
