A local TV station played Sailor Moon at six in the morning back in the mid-90's. I was up early each day, hooked to it's mythos, which was a lot more intricate than most American cartoons. Total prepubecent nerd food.

That show was amazing. That show altered my worldview, and the fact that I embraced it's mix of the bizarre and sentimental probably cemented my nerd status on the playground to those bullies who probably didn't even get cable. I still think of settling conflicts with Rock, Paper, Scissors, Meteor.
Dice el cangrejo: Me pica el culito!
When I first saw this film, I spent the whole time wondering why anyone would make a film that was essentially premature (and unnecessary) nostalgia for the to the pre-y2k disaster days of the late 90's. All the elements were there, carefully calculated to blend in with Twister or Armageddon in any shitty VHS…
Unexpected, but definately appropriate. The scene where that transition takes place is subtly harsh.
Some of my all-time faves without much thought: Metal Gear Solid, Yoshi's Island, TIE-Fighter, Half-Life, Final Fantasy IX, Age of Empires 2, Link's Awakening, bla bla bla…
There's an absurd inventiveness in these two films that transcend genre. Neither should be passed up. Go see it.
I have a hard time comparing. They're all amazing and funny in their own way.
Perhaps my deliberately dramatic language needs to take a good paradigm shit? I'm lost, specialagentdalecooper, be my metamucil.
I was a lousy teenager
Then, on second thought, it's probably not adolescence without the pompousness. Yet at any rate, film wise, I was the snootiest fuck out there. No sense of humor. Dorkus malorkus.

When I last had a fever, and I was during that horrible limbo of being not-full-fledged sick-yet-not-exactly-cured, and unable to sleep or do much of anything, I found that listening to audiobooks or any spoken-word audio of certain length seemed to do the trick. Keeps your head occupied and your eyes don't…

Tezuka's own movies
Kino just released a DVD of all of his short films, all of which are all awesome and beautiful at once. If you haven't seen them yet, I think you'll get more out of this instead. They're the kind of stuff that are made to leave deep impressions. Especially 'Jumping'.
Nah, what you just all witnessed was the most amazing PR stunt for a movie ever.
The film was 4:3 and I'm pretty sure most of their work through out the 40's was too. I just saw the Bambi DVD from a while back and it was also at that ratio. They give you the option to "frame" the image, but eh.
Bowie's Ch-Changes
…now depend on which body you place into his head. There better be real LEGOs to promote this.
