That commentary is hilarious. The hot-tub scene is a particular highlight. And just when you think it's the two of them joking around they make some interesting observation about how the scene was shot or something. It strikes a very nice balance between entertaining and informative.

"When the going gets tough, you know what ol' Jack Burton says?"
"Who?"

YES! Clark and Michael doesn't get nearly enough love.

Season 3 is "the politics season" and that's where he comes to the fore.

Darwyn Cooke's Richard Stark's Parker: The Hunter
Convoluted title aside, I've been waiting for this ever since I read an awesome interview with Cooke and Ed Brubaker, discussing comics, crime fiction, and Cooke's correspondance with Westlake:

"Only problem is that cunt in a blazer advertising phones using the medium of shit standup."

I love Calvin and Hobbes. Such a great blend of wacky humour and a really heartfelt portrayal of childhood feels like. And I will back Evel up on the dinosaurs: they're amazing.

I also found a neat middle ground the crime/superhero crossover-type comic, for people who don't want to jump straight into superheroes. Brian Michael Bendis' Powers and Ed Brubaker's Gotham Central are basically police procedurals set in a world of superpowers (GC also works as a skirt around the edges of the Batman

D'oh! Beaten to the punch!

"Bats aren't bugs!"

That reminds me of another good Malcolm moment from the Xmas specials: when Glenn has his "I'm irrelevant I'm irrelevant I'm irrelevant" meltdown, and Malcolm motivates him to go back out into the fray. Again, you think it might be Malcolm showing a sliver of compassion, but it's more likely just him being a canny

a *real* impression…

Miller: That's the one! It's got some great commentary, that made a realt impression on me at a young age. Larson is another favourite of mine, if only for all the science/biology gags he slips into a wacky comic strip.

Chris Ward: Well played, sir.

First clip made me laugh til my face hurt.

Oh, CCH Pounder, you deserve better.

Honky Rodents be Trippin'!

Not to be the stereotypical internet commenter, but Chlumsky is THE STONE HOTNESS in this film …. as is Gina McKee, who really needs to get more work - I hadn't seen her in anything since Croupier.

The Morrison, Ianucci, and Capaldi interviews have made this Awesomely Talented Scots Week on the A.V. Club.

Hollander's pretty great. I will again recommend a film called The Lawless Heart (which was the start of Bill Nighy's late-career comeback) where he, Nighy and Douglas Henshall give excellent performances.
