"Boom, boom, acka-lacka-lacka boom…"

Saw it last night, and that's exactly what I took away from it. I actually wished they'd gone into more detail over the parallels between the rise of organised crime and Hoover's FBI, both turning the wild frontier into a much more organised, professional game.

I enjoyed the hell out of Public Enemies, and I don't mind Phipps' review. It's his opinion, not mine.

Eh, starting comments with "Eh" is intensely annoying.

TomWaits' comment was a little too much effort to expend on the subject of Katy Perry.

You wouldn't like mbs when he's angry.

Agreed on the domestic strife - the [SPOILERS] Natalie Portman attempted suicide was so clunky it takes you right out of the film for a minute. The mirroring is laid on particularly thick in Heat, and I can see why some find it a bit much, but I really enjoyed it. And I think it works to terrific effect in his other

Fuck the children! No, wait, I didn't mean — too late!

I've seen the original, and the YouTube clips of Nic Cage acting kerr-aazy in the remake, and I'm fine with that.

POWERS … IS … COMING … BACK … FUCKING … SOON!

The Director's Cut is the best version of Blade Runner (no more overdone voiceovers, happy endings and B-footage from the Shining playing over the credits). The recently released Final Cut made a few more changes than I was happy with, and got rid of a few of my favourite lines.

A flagrant misstatement, sir. Marmite is the food of the gods.

More Films That Time Forgot, please!
Terrible films from years ago are much funnier than the mediocre modern fare that gets sent up in I Watched This On Purpose.

I'm slightly annoyed, because I bought the smaller first trade of Sleeper (with the first 6 issues) about a month ago. But overall, the comic is cool enough to make me shell out for the bigger collection. Gotta love the really well-done noir atmosphere, as well as the little flashes of black humour. Plus, the whole

Divisive? News to me, mbs - who didn't like Meldrick?

Also, racism.
