I thought it had to do with the Tora Bora stuff initially. Then Osama was killed and they quickly changed everything.

I checked out of Denby finally around the time of "John Carter," when his argument was that Wonder Woman was for girls and they grow up out of it whereas men cling to these characters of their past (or something).

Yes. I'm just about caught up with Batman, Incorporated and reading through Morrison's stuff, the dude had this planned out years and years in advance.

In their defense, David Denby needs to be attacked for everything he writes.

Instead of suffering through that Parker adaptation, everyone should just go read the Darwyn Cooke adaptations of the book. Less Stathium, more Cooke, better interpretation.

Let me just admit right now that these discussions have been one of the things I've been looking forward to returning in 2013.

It's my boyfriend's favorite too.

Oh. I'm sorry they didn't go with your non-union Mexican counterpart.

Agree with @avclub-c1fe85b855c6d045b827f74a1e2c3fd7:disqus : DKR is a technical marvel. And fuck you all and this Dark Knight backlash, I still love that movie. Or at least I like it a lot better than Dark Knight.

LOOPER deserved a Makeup nod.

There were parts of "Cymbals" I really liked, particularly the closer. I feel they became much better/much more fun when they swapped to indie dance or whatever.

Actually, Joker trying to keep his face attached to his head is probably among the funniest stuff I've seen right now. I mean, it's just so…bootstraps…safety pins…the flies.

According to Grant Morrison: "If Gotham was so bloody awful, no one normal would live there and there'd be no one to protect from criminals. If Gotham really was an open sewer of crime and corruption, every story set there would serve to demonstrate the complete and utter failure of Batman's mission, which isn't

I agree with you. Reason why no one has yet to touch Hamill's Joker.

"Mason & Dixon" is Pynchon's best novel as well.

Also a new Neil Gaiman, George Saunders, Karen Russell (though not for everyone, I understand), Aleksandar Hemon, and new translation of Ludmilla Petrushevskaya stories.

You know, everyone bitches that it takes George RR Martin about six years between each of those "Game of Thrones" books, but until recently there's been a, like, two decade wait between Pynchon novels. And unlike Martin, they have the benefit of being…you know, good.

You know, I really loved Oliver Sava's BIG ISSUE writeups, most specifically WONDER WOMAN, HAWKEYE, and ADVENTURE TIME.

I don't have much to say other than I agree.
