I don't know if it's art per se but The Carousel pitch from the Mad Men S1 finale is as good as it was perceived to be inside the show, right?

I didn't know that was Peter Berg's work, never bothered to look it up. But I remember being stuck in a hotel watching this on premium cable at some point and really enjoying it.
@avclub-997c221538094d134659141cf61d51e3:disqus What else is there? To me, those seem like the core of any entertainment.
@avclub-15d496c747570c7e50bdcd422bee5576:disqus Actually, I'd be carefully with chicken shawarmas as they are usually dressed with a garlic sauce. I guess you can always request one without the sauce. (Beef shawarmas come with tahini sauce, which I assume is garlic-free but don't know for certain)
I think Loki's been the best or one of the best things about any of the movies he's been in. The guy who plays him does a really nice job.
I've easily enjoyed more great TV than great film in the last 5 years. And it's not because I stopped going to the theater or anything. It's the expansiveness of the format and making the most of it to tell story and develop character.
Everything is better with shawarma.
If you genuinely love the characters, don't skip Season 2. It is the weakest season but c'mon it's not going to kill you or ruin the show for you or anything like that. It has its moments. And by the time you're done with the show and you realize that it is really really great, you'll probably want to go back and…
@avclub-8667e34f30ffbe31ab8933ecc86a5743:disqus It's not a great fit but that line by Don instantly made me think of this http://www.youtube.com/watc…
@avclub-913d3a7404f98f0ee3766e12e78506fe:disqus Agree with you 100%. It's sad to see an individual in the grips of a depression. She is so fucked up. But it's difficult to see her mistreat/use her children the way she does. And that's been the case in probably 75% of the scenes we see with her and the kids. Her…
Sally's development is really interesting. She is shown to be conniving and whatnot. In addition to what she did in this episode, remember she blamed Henry's mother falling on Bobby leaving her toys out and managed to spin the whole situation in a way to suggest that she was something of a lifesaver? Still, she is…
I mean, all these things are true. But it works within the context of the show, right? What I'm most curious about is if the character was originally written this way or if the character was adapted to be this way based on JJ being cast — and if it's the former (which it must be right?), then did Weiner & Co. look…
Just my own two cents, but I think Depp is infinitely more watchable than Cage.
A big smile lights up my face everytime I see Cee-Lo get emotional on the show due to a performance. This show may be a lot of things but I do think that Cee-Lo, Adam, and Blake genuinely want to showcase the talent of the folks on their team. I think Christina does too but she sometimes gets in the way in moments…
Obvious mental problems were in reference to her comment about the pictures of Earth taken from space. While Harry thought it was "majestic", this girl had a different take on them which smecked of feeling insignificant and powerless and etc. in a way that didn't sound terribly healthy. It wasn't with awe that she…
Howdy partner.
Agree. Though dude is/was banging Freida Pinto, so he was clearly doing something right.
I've never read JL before. Is Batman a part of the JL? If so, that would be weird if the tone/visuals of the JL movie was different from the tone/visuals in the Chris Nolan movies.
The team poaching idea here is interesting.
