This is a brilliant observation and I think you are 100% right. The clues are there in the thrashing/looping sequence where Papageorge looks for the money as well as the stated premise that the computer simulating chess cannot properly handle the "end game", much like how the movie as a whole dissolves into a less…
The lawnmower wins it for me …. but I also like Betty shooting the doves in her bathrobe with a cig dangling out her mouth. It's such an incredible end to that episode and that image of her has really stayed with me, particularly in view of how occasionally flat/unsatisfying her character treatment later becomes.
I've had those at the Houston rodeo and it's no joke.
Any song in particular? The excellent music video for "Batcat" definitely makes me think of GoT.
I actually enjoyed it more than Moonrise.
Over the course of two Christmases and a birthday, my little brother gifted me the entire run of Gotham Central in the collected trade paperback format. He doesn't even read comics really so I'm not sure how he even came upon such a winning recommendation. I loved those and, between those and Oliver Sava's excellent…
I really like the demo for "Lightness." Then again, I really like that song, period.
Not disagreeing with what you said but …. Stephen Hawking?
Not only that but he swallowed fish and regurgitated them as well, right?
Just want to chime in and echo the love for that final shot on the football field. It is probably one of those TV/film moments that will just continue to linger in my head all my life. If that was the show's final impression, my goodness …. it's the pop culture equivalent of Jordan hitting the shot over Byron…
Nah, he's just a really old friend of mine. I've known the guy half my life. We went to high school and college together, even roomed together a few years in college, etc.
The first Thor movie is a good time. Nothing Great but it's fun. Surprisingly funny too. I'm going to rewatch it before this one.
I think Hiddleston's Loki is kinda the best thing about any of the Marvel movies as a collective.
I know this is the Internet or whatever but this comment appears to be striving for a new low standard for being mean spirited. Was it really necessary to share any part of the sentiments expressed in the second paragraph???
I can't verify this personally because I never went to school there but I remember hearing way back that Cal did have co-ed bathrooms in some dorms. Don't know if it's true or not, but seeing this on the show made me think about whatever it is that I had heard 10-15 years ago.
I think he even offered to step out and get something, e.g. groceries or whatever. Which led to alot of babbling about breakfast.
That's a great collection. I really love "Kathy's Song" which is also on there, I think. It's a good song but I think what I really love about it is that it's probably the same Kathy he addresses by name in "America", which probably is my favorite song of his, period.
Crazy Love
I binged through TVD's entire run sometime in the last year. I honestly loved the back half of S1 all the way through the end of S2. It was tremendous fun, way more than I expected from a CW show. (Incidentally, I was persuaded to watch it in part to Carrie Raisler's TV Club 10 article from a year ago. Thanks!) …
