I only recently saw Dead Poets Society and was surprised to see it go to such a dark place with the thespian kid's plot line.

I remember it catching some hate in these parts but I really dug her take of that Fine Young Cannibals song she did with Little Scream for AV Undercover.

It's pretty much a movie that demands to be seen twice (which I did and recommend) and it's probably my favorite thing I've seen in the past year.  Pretty much loved everything about it, particularly the menacing bass of the score.

Sitting in an otherwise empty dollar theater and watching Event Horizon by myself was one of the more frightening movie-going experiences of my adolescence.

Agree with you on both counts.  Stylish genre flicks like DRIVE don't come around as often as ppl would like to believe.  And TTSS was easily the most engrossing thing I saw all year.

The Hurt Locker winning over Avatar almost makes up for a shitty yr like this one.

Have to agree, here.  This discussion of TTTS is frustratingly dismissive of a movie that is made with a great deal of filmcraft, particularly when those involved provide only a birds-eye view of the basis of their opinion.  Maybe I'm alone in saying this, or not, but it was the best movie I've seen in a while and…
