Finally got around to watching this on Netflix last weekend.  I really liked Ti West's short.  The first visit of the stalker was creepy, until I actually laughed at the toothbrush scene.  When it happened the second time, I was expecting more silliness, and instead got the "OH SHIT, FUCK" reaction you mention.

I caught that episode where he was hiding out in the supermarket when my wife was watching the whole series on Netflix, and had no clue who he was until he started playing at the end.

Reminds me of a "friend" from high school.  He was a compulsive liar, one of those who makes up stories to make himself sound cool.  Another friend and I both liked a hot girl in school, suddenly she lives down the street from him and he's played basketball with her…but she's only there part of the time, and not when…

Different, yes….horrifying?  Dunno about that.  It IS weird to have a different visual style to them in every single media they appear in…but the few gameplay clips I've seen of this game look potentially promising.
