I haven't read the later Dark Tower novels yet, so no idea if you're being sarcastic, but the Wikipedia page for novels connected to TDT refers to IT's Pennywise as a psychic vampire as well.

I'm reading "Die Trying", the second Jack Reacher book.  The reactions to Tom Cruise's casting in the movie got me curious in the source material.  The first book, The Killing Floor, was entertaining enough, but Die Trying is annoying me so I'll probably move on to something better when I'm done with this.  (SPOILER

If Tom Hooper had spent less time sitting the camera five feet from the leads during their solo performances it would have helped the scope I think.  But other than that I loved it.

Read 11/22/63 earlier this year, and it became my favorite King book for exactly the reasons you described.  (Plus has a well-written ending, which has often been a flaw of his previous novels.)

I gave up somewhere between book 7 and 10.  Does the series get any better after that?  Normally I would say replacing the deceased author ends my interest in the series, but I'm kind of curious if Sanderson did a decent job.
