You mean thinking of Travolta boning his female doppelganger Lily Tomlin didn't do it for you?

Can't believe someone else remembers that episode.

Fastandsloppy, you and I must be the old men on this thread.  I was 12 when this aired.

A fair mistake, Daffy.  Glynnis O'Connor was the go-to girlfriend for sensitive, doomed youth of this era, the sort Robbie Benson specialized in (did he ever come out of a movie alive?).  Now I have to go watch Ode to Billy Joe.

@Senior Bagofcrap, if you're talking asian restaurants, then you must try Mai Dung.

I thought it was funny that Raylan didn't recognize the name Josiah until they specified Josiah Cairn.  Just how many Josiahs are running around Harlan?

I really liked this episode, but I think they're getting lazy with the whole "Surpise!  Guy whips out gun and puts bullet in the head of hapless toadie" schtick.  It's the third time this season.

Don't forget Toot.  Olympiaaaaaaa!

Hmmm, suddenly Irons's comment about not being able to hold the hand of a girl under 14 makes sense.  Incidentally, does this mean it's okay for me to hold hands with a 14 year old girl?

Make that Americans

I wondered the same thing.  Was it Irons or is it a typo?  I thought only Aericans confused Iraq and Iran

@disqus_okgItcD0yy:disqus I was likewise raised Catholic, but no longer practice.  Like you I attended CCD classes on Saturday mornings (or as we called it, CKMC—Catholic Kids Miss Cartoons).  I can't speak to the experience of people from other parts of the country, but I'm from a small West Virginia town, and never

I believe snake-handling is legal only in West Virginia.  Montani semper liberi!

She's one of them there idiot savants—only without the savant part.

High functioning?

I just want to toss out an endorsement for the original novel.  Davis Grubb is, sadly, nearly forgotten today.  The book is fantastic, and the characterizations are multilayered in a way that doesn't translate to the screen.  There are used copies of the book floating around, but they can be hard to find.  I believe

@alurin:twitter As of spring 2012, coal and natural gas were pretty much neck and neck for the first time as electricity generators.  But that's fine.  The wonders of frakking have now also made WV a major provider of natural gas (this statement is not meant to be the set-up for endless jokes, but have at it).

I've been to Paris.  It's nothing but hygenically challenged people and croissants.  Stop pretending it's anything more.

Eh, I don't know about Pittsburgh.  There's not a whole lot of difference between Western PA and WV, and lots of people who work in Pittsburgh live in WV's northern panhandle for the lower property tax and crime rates (I lived in the area until I was 33).
