And that wig wasn't an homage to Jimi Hendrix but to some basketball player. (Sorry I can't remember the guy's name—-I'm not a sports guy as Marc Maron would say.)

The supertrain is exactly what I was talking about when I said that Roderick tends to go on about God knows what. The quiet intensity that that guy musters while talking about utter nonsense creeps me out big time.

And Jake Fogelnest, who I find shrill and just trying too hard on his podcast, was a very likable call-in guest. Good episode all around despite my apprehensions going into a taped episode.

Another thing, can someone explain to me how John Hodgman is even considered a comedian or a humor writer? I've heard him on The Best Show plenty and I've yet to hear him say anything even remotely funny.

Safari is far, far better than Last Splash. Not quite as good as Pod (I subtract points for The Who because, well, I hate The Who). Pacer is better than Last Splash too.

I don't know when it will happen or why but I just cannot wait for the day that I see that creep Jesse Thorn being led into a police station in cuffs. That dude is up to something I just know it.

It has to be more like 1,500 if you include that 90% of the mentions by the animals down here in the comments section.

Well that is truly something. Thanks for the links. I had no idea that this was even a thing. Wow.

Glasses of piss?!?! Jesus Christ, I've never heard of anything like that going on in the States outside of, say, prison walls. I suppose that that does make what I'm talking about sound very minor.

NightmareFuel, correct me if I'm wrong, but their weird experimentation that you refer to was weird experimentation of a musical nature, not experimenting with selling their sucker fans a bunch of dumb crap, right?

Oh I wish I could find this footage to illustrate how lame their singing was (it was on brooklyn vegan but I can't find it now).

This reminds me of a fan-shot youtube video I saw of one of The Stone Roses reunion shows at some festival in England. It featured what had to be the most obnoxious crowd behavior I have ever seen: A whole bunch of drunken idiots were very loudly singing along to the guitar parts of the intro to I Wanna Be Adored. It

While I love that first Stone Roses record, I wasn't surprised that there are many people who aren't aware of them and even more surprised that Coachella picked them as headliners. They were never all popular in the States and it's been ages since they were in most people's thoughts.

Agreed, who falls for these lame stunts?

You bring up a good point—-I found myself on the recently (?) revamped Onion and wow, it is not very good.

I followed that link to the Ain't It Cool website and whoa! Is it deliberate that that site looks like it's from the late 1990s? Or is it a symptom of the unprofessionalism going on there.

Dude, you are seriously doing more than bitching about it. You have no clue what The Best Show is all about (see eligit's explanation above) and you keep illustrating how out of your depth you are with your dimwitted and wrongheaded comparions. He goofed on the AV Club board for 5 minutes of a 3 hour show that has

He's not as much of an outsider as you think he is.I remember Tom and Paul F Tompkins going on about AV Club firsties a number of years ago. He's talked about AV Club comments for years. This seems to be the culmination of it.

You've never seen a Sturges movie, have you?

Hey Hunsweasel, if a joke you're trying to make takes a paragraph to explain, maybe you should just stick to whatever it is that you do for a living and not attempt to make Scharpling look like a fool. You can't manage that clearly. If the comments section of this shithole site means so much to you, it might be time
