Ok. I'm not crazy about live albums period but have really been giving this one (on LP) a chance lately seeing as how since this reissue has been announced I've seen evidence that there are plenty of people who have love for this one. I'll probably try again tonight too, but for now I prefer the Venus and Mars

I think it's been cool to like him for some time now. This reissue series has seen records of his that at the time of their release were critically panned, reassessed and appreciated for the brilliance that they are.

Craig, what do you mean "airless", I'm not understanding you. Are you basing this from the LP or a CD? Or both?

A few things here and sorry I'm late joining the conversation. I had no idea that Pharrell (and yes, there's a second R in there, idiots)  was so unpopular until I saw the comments on another Get Lucky article on this site. His vocals on this are great just like everything else about the song.

Someone pulls this dumb oldie out every time there's an article on McCartney on this site and I guess it's my turn to say get some new material, asshole. Linda was great. She could clearly match Paul joint for joint for almost 30 years; Her harmonies on those Wings records were done pre-autotune and help define their

Ok. That's a great answer. It didn't occur to me that their reputation was steadily growing despite the fact that they haven't released an album of worthwhile new material in more than a decade. I also was unaware that those samples helped much either because, well, Three Dog Night have been sampled plenty and I don't

Well help me out Ryan, how can I determine a musical acts' relevancy?

The tour that they released the live album from? Because that record was great and I generally do not care for live albums at all.

This is sort of what I thought but I'm not convinced that these guys are huge. So what size venues do these guys play when they tour these days?

The version of this song from One Hand Clapping, which was included on the most recent McCartney reissue, edges out this version in my opinion. My God were they ever on fire that day:

Look I love this song and like everything that Daft Punk has done so far aside from Human After All but they aren't this big of an musical act, right? I mean almost every website I look at that even sort of covers pop music is giving near constant updates on the minutia of this record. I just checked and their highest

I agree. I've read it too (many years ago) and I don't remember it being Landy propaganda to the extent that it was anything more than fascinating to read. It didn't shy away from the drug horror stories or any of the other madness. As far as what Brian claimed in court, Brian is very much an unreliable narrator. I

If you have a record player, it's one of those records (like almost all Beach Boys 70s output) that you should be able to find in near mint condition for a dollar.

It'll probably be skipped over. Love You may take a little getting used to but it is legitimately good.

He's stomping a mudhole in him and now he's walking it dry

GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY HE'S BROKEN IN HALF!!!

I think his "how to dress like a grown up " blog is one of the reasons I can't stand this guy so much. I only looked at it once but I seem to recall that it linked to his ebay account and looking around that it was plain to me that if this guy isn't enormously wealthy he is at least very comfortable financially.

I'd pay some money to get Stop Podcasting Yourself and Memory Palace to defect from Maximum Fun just so I don't have to hear that charlatan Jesse begging for money anymore. I don't understand why anyone funny or talented would want to be associated with this guy.

Yeah, that was a great show. Mike's been doing fill-ins for and has been part of The Best Show for so long that it's amazing that that Playboy Channel anecdote only came up now. The stories that guy has must be bottomless. Depravity's Rainbow keeps getting better.

Agreed. Tompkins' Herzog impression is not as absurd or (sometimes as unintentionally or possibly intentionally) hilarious as any of Herzog's own utterances and I also get the impression that PFT has only really seen Grizzly Man. And I understand that mimicry is not really the point but none of Tompkins' impressions
