In all seriousness, I'd like to see a show about civilians set in the star trek world, but it would have to have a serious special effects budget.  Like Two guys out of college decide to take a "road trip" around the Federation in their dad's old mining shuttle.

I think it should be a buddy comedy with Worf and Morn forced to run an interstellar taxi service with a barely working runabout.  The running joke would be that Morn doesn't ever actually talk, but Worf's always telling him to be quiet and stop running his mouth.

Also, Odo's not a starfleet officer. Given that DS9 just got a lot more important as the flash point for a Dominion invasion, it makes sense they would want one of their own running security.  It would be like say, if A US allied latin american country had a local officer in charge of security at the most important US…
