all the reviews keep missing obvious Rick & Morty parallels - the companion shooting the Doctor, the using a simulation for his own ends. both worked way better in Rick & Morty since Rick can be the dark Doctor that the real Doctor can't, since he's in a more cynical world.

every time they try and pretend The Doctor is dark i think about how Rick & Morty does 'evil Doctor Who' better. which is fine. let Rick be evil, let The Doctor be good

i liked Love & Monsters as Doctor Who's take on Supernatural's constant meta-episodes, but the ending was gross

the images - all the pyramid stuff, the gothic Monks - looked great. the script was terrible
