[sigh] I don't want to post this, but it's a peeve:

Also - what 10-yr old boy wouldn't unquestionably say YES to being Anakin Skywalker??? The rest of the cast clearly didn't see the script and made what they could of it. Asking a 10-yr old to act opposite some tennis balls that are supposed to be C3PO is completely ridiculous.

Does 29 HOURS of music qualify as a "playlist"?

D'OH!

At least that was somewhat original. And fun.

So in Dylan's lifelong performance art piece, is he just seeing how far he can push his fans to buy anything? I'm expecting the next album to just be 45 minutes of farting.

Though flawed, I think that Christopher Nolan's Inception and Interstellar are some of the best reflections of the potential oddities that alternate universes could have. Interstellar does it better in visiting two planets where the laws of physics are consistent with Earth's, with enormous consequences for anyone who

Knowing scientists, I am guessing he means (logically) offensive, not (emotionally) offensive. This is why scientists should be required to take classes in the humanities…

Was he a romantic leading man in anything else?

TBH - it was kind of appealing before. That is why I love that show - yes, you (kinda) have democracy here, but the quality of life is so much worse. I mean, outside of random destructive events. Earth 2 has cool tech, a cancer cure, John Lennon, and zeppelins!

Just suck on a lemon and look in a mirror - close enough.

Why didn't Marah Eakin write this?  She can A) write, B) well, and C) likes music.  Lewis has failed on all three counts.

Ugh, I don't.  Early Rabin was insufferably pretentious but all over the site.  Later Rabin was just long-winded and siloed in special project so I could easily ignore him.

Or even calling out Fugazi for making Red Medicine because it "sounded weird."  It is also the first review of her music that I have read in YEARS that references her first two albums as relevant to her current work, and for good reason.

I suppose the record is more vulnerable, but I take that to be more courageous than the brash swagger of the Boyfriends albums.  On the other hand, my judgement may be clouded by the many interviews I have read/heard with her recently regarding the crap she went through getting these songs together.

The only thing I can think of is how obsessed Nick Cave is with that poem/epic, "Mutiny In Heaven" being the most obvious and awesome example.  But I think one of the world's greatest literary works still might have some legs.

Yeah, I am so glad to know that this record exists - I had no idea!  Listening to it right now and the Bowie similarities are uncanny.  Which, in turn, makes me remember how much I dislike the new Bowie record, especially compared to The Argument's greatness.  This is some really beautiful ambitious and fearsome

I guess I don't get that.  It definitely swings more than any other Albini stuff, but it's not crazy enough for me.  If he wanted to wander Sims' road to Jesus Lizard territory, I'd be more interested.  But Shellac is just so damn tight rhythmically and weird in every other way that it is heads and shoulders above
