That was a great tribute to Holt's leadership. Imagine if the Vulture were the captain dealing with Terry's situation.

I had to stop it midway through — way too much.

Possessed, I can get behind. And I guess Mildred Pierce has to be there. But there are at least a dozen better picks than A Woman's Face and Susan & God. I'd throw in Strange Cargo, with Crawford and Gable as sexy together as any current onscreen duo.

I had never made the connection between Power's creepy handsomeness and Affleck's handsome smarminess. Excellent casting, if that's the role Affleck's playing.

Grace Zabriskie was sublime in the part. The Rosses ruled.

"We have Hulk running, don't we?" Modern Romance is always the first thing I think of when I think of George Kennedy. RIP. https://www.youtube.com/wat…

Love Jones never gets the respect it deserves. The slams-with-finger-snaps milieu hasn't aged well, but everything else, especially the soundtrack, still sexy.

Seinfeld went operatic to dramatize the peril and anxiety of barber-switching, but yeah, seems similar to what we saw here. Having had to abandon a very good post-switch barber in order to help defuse intra-shop conflict, I was glad to see this point portrayed as a universal aspect of haircut culture.

Alan King is hilarious in this movie…which might not be much of a draw for horror fans. But for (Alan) King fans, this one's un-missable.

Looks to me like Liz Taylor also took inspiration from the King of Tall, Bald Drag Performers: Dean Johnson, late, great lead singer of The Velvet Mafia.

Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, Why Do Fools Fall in Love?, Jungle Fever. Though, certainly, if they make a solo Storm movie, I'd much rather see Lupita Nyong'o.

Went to a taping of the show once, and indeed that was the case. Madeline ruled!

The waste of Elba here is real and egregious. Penn is surprisingly credible as a contract killer who gouges out eyes with the same hands he uses to dig water wells for distressed African villagers. Bardem gets to play most of his scenes drunk, so maybe he was? It's gruesome, frequently funny nonsense that won't harm

I spent the whole episode marveling, "This guy really knows nothing." So he won self-awareness points at least for ending his FJ question with "I don't know."

TPORT: The Postman Occasionally Rings Twice?

Not only is she pretty great in it, but she partners well with every member of a stylistically diverse ensemble—Johansson, Buscemi, Douglas and, for me, especially with Bob Balaban and (for about 30 seconds) Teri Garr. That whole surly kid vs single parent's longtime whatever (which, I swear, is a thing), she and

"You don't know…what you're talking about."

That snippet in the post does remind me how much I wish Tim or her label or whoever would just come off some unreleased Aaliyah. I'd listen.

Grace: Jack's mother doesn't know that he's gay.
Karen: What, is she headless?

Sí y no.
