Kid Rock was the worst cameo in the worst episode that I have seen. That show was so bad I don't think it even aired in my country.

Actually, I think it is fairly reasonable to argue that Krusty (even though he is fictional) has done more to deserve the award than the current US president.
What better way to improve the "fraternity between nations" than through enjoying classic Simpsons episodes?

I wonder how 13 will compare with Izo, which set the bar for stylized samurai action as well as being one of his better films IMO.

Thanks Bread, Noel and the rest, I look forward to checking these out.

"a Spanish version of the Italian "giallo" genre"
Anyone got recommendations of some good films in this genre? I see that it is mentioned as influential for many modern directors, but I don't think I have ever seen any.
Or should I just go and pick up a Mario Bava box set?

"It's stupid to complain about free content."
Not true. Although it is free content, the writers still need to produce something that people will want to read or click on in order for them to make money from ads.

I agree with Switters, in that I would pay for the content AV Club provides, but just not these kind of articles.
The division between a good and bad article is shown by its lifespan. A good article can be read and enjoyed years after it is published, but I can't imagine anyone caring about this stuff in 2 weeks time

Ollie North - won't any band making great albums have their sound copied by hundreds of lesser imitators? I think most of them will freely admit to it if questioned.

What do people on here think of the last Neurosis album? I have not listened to it, and I read mostly mixed reviews when it came out a few years back.

I thought that the show was getting a little repetitive around the second season but now that the season 3 running time has been bumped up to 21mins it has a lot more potential for story telling and jokes.
whataworkout, you should check out episode 3 of the new season, it was superb.

Metalocalypse
I think this is going start showing again this month sometime, so is the coverage going to continue? I enjoyed reading about/watching the first half of the season.

Yeah I think this was worth a mention in the review. I'd claim it was also a parody of how most charity events (not just those for wealthy liberal types) are geared towards encouraging pity as opposed to compassion for their subjects.
The writers took it further than that though, when the voice-over guy barely made an

I thought the scenes with the three Rabbis were the highlight of the film, especially the junior who keeps asking Larry to look at the parking lot.
They managed somehow to show religion in a non-respectful, but also non-malicious way.

^ one of *my* top 5 Coen films ^

That doesn't make much sense to me, what crime do you think God is committing? Also, is God (assuming he exists in this film) even able to commit a crime?
Bullshit aside, this is one of top 5 Coen films.

Well, the way I read it was evidently not what you intended, and I apologise if I offended your integrity, but you have to admit there is an awful lot of waffle going on in music journalism.
It seems to be a popular misconception that music is mostly written to translate an emotion, when even the simplest pop songs are

"Music is a way of translating complicated emotions into accessible terms"
Does anyone here agree with this unfortunate generalisation?
I can appreciate that music journalists often just make shit up to fill up the word count, but this seems a little reductionist. Maybe I just don't listen to the same music Zack does?

This was one of the first Waits albums I listened to (bought it along with Rain Dogs), and I would agree it is not a great starting place.
Having said that, I would say that it is a solid album and not as dismiss-able as indicated in the article. It has a real nice bleakness to it that I have not heard in many other

Krusty's show is odd because it started out in the earlier seasons as just a kids show, but later on we see that he also had some kind of late night talk show. Then of course there is Klassic Krusty:
"Hank, let me be blunt: Is there a labor crisis in America today?"
"Well that depends on what you mean by crisis…"

Three what on your thigh leg?
